Free Grant Money to Start a Business

There is billions of dollars in cash grants available to help Americans start their new business. This free money is available from both the government and many private foundations that want to help your small business succeed.

While there are a wide range of grants for specific businesses and industries, there are also small business grants for individual needs. For example, you can obtain $20,000 to help expand your business internationally, or you can get cash grants to help purchase commercial real estate, buy office furniture or make payroll.

Unlike small business loans, this is money that you never have to pay back. The government doesn’t ask you to pay interest on the grants, there is no down payment, and you do not need any collateral. As long as you have a business plan that demonstrates your ability to run and operate a profitable business, you can qualify to receive some of this free grant money.

There are even grants to help you get started with a home based business.

Finding the money seems to be the tough part for many soon to be entrepreneurs. The government and private foundations that provide small business grants generally do not advertise these programs, but they are there. Start with your local government agencies, as they tend to want to help and promote community businesses. After all, they will directly benefit from your success form both tax dollars and attracting other businesses to the community.

Once you have access to the resources you need to find and apply for small business grants for your start up company, you’ll quickly realize there may be a number of grants you may qualify for. Don’t be discouraged because you don’t have to pick just one. There is no limit on the number of programs you can apply for.
